Eligibility for children

A child may qualify for survivor’s benefits if:

  • They are under 18 years old.
  • They are between 18–25 years old and enrolled in school, with an annual school certificate.
  • They are disabled (they are eligible for life).
  • They are not deceased.
  • They are not married (except in the case of disabled children).
  • They are not employed.
  • They are over 25 years old (except in the case of disabled children).

Eligibility for Spouse

A Spouse may qualify for survivor’s benefits if:

  • Surviving spouse of the deceased, and should not have remarriage status.

Application Rules

Application rules for survivor’s benefits:

  • If one parent deceased and is child under 18, surviving parent applies.
  • One parent deceased, child 18–25 → Child applies with school certificate.
  • Both parents deceased, child under 18 → Legal guardian applies with guardianship proof.
  • Both parents deceased, child 18–25 → Child applies with school certificate.
  • Disabled child → Child applies (or guardian if under 18) with disability certificate.
